Description: The Business Development Manager (BDM) is accountable for driving loan origination volume and market share expansion by prospecting, structuring B2B agreements and closing new commercial relationships, and collaborating internally with the UpCredit team members to ensure alignment with Corporate Objectives and Strategies.
Key Responsibilities Loan Origination & Sales Growth
Develop and execute a localized business development plan to drive origination volume to help drive the growth of a profitable loan portfolio.
Identify, prospect, and secure new business relationships through targeted outreach and referral networks (e.g. customer acquisition channels, banks, credit unions).
Manage and document the end-to-end sales pipeline, from initial discovery and lead qualification to final agreement negotiations, execution and relationship management.
Deal Structuring & Risk Management
Solicit and execute UpCredit Partner/Vendor Procurement Risk Assessments (regulatory, financial stability, references, analyze credit risk, and make credit recommendations for complex transactions in alignment with internal policies.
Negotiate MLA’s, SLA’s, pricing,
and terms that balance UpCredit organization's growth and risk appetites.
Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.
Relationship Management & Brand Advocacy
Build strong, long-term relationships with partners prospective and existing partners.
Act as a visible brand ambassador; represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and networking meetings.
Proactively collaborate with internal partners to expedite go to market and growth.
Qualifications Education & Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Canadian sales, lending, or business development. Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
Credit Acumen: Strong ability to understand revenue sharing, commission and referral models.
Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of Canadian lending products (e.g., Installment Loans and Lines of Credit) and market dynamics.
Tech Literacy: Proficiency with contemporary Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
Familiar with local compliance requirements and risk manegment, with strong compliance awareness and risk control ability;
