Carnist Ethical Butcher is looking for a Butcher / Cook to join our team in Kelowna's North End.
We're looking for someone who loves good food, whole animals, local farms, and getting their hands dirty. Someone who understands that excellent food starts with great ingredients and that every part of the animal deserves to be used well.
The role includes:
- Whole-animal butchery and meat preparation
- Sausage, charcuterie, pâté and other value-added production
- Cooking and preparing ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook foods
- Working with locally sourced meat and ingredients
- Maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness and food safety
- Helping us continually develop new products and ideas
You'd be a great fit if you:
- Have professional kitchen and/or butchery experience
- Are comfortable working with knives and whole cuts of meat
- Care deeply about food quality and responsible sourcing
- Work well independently and as part of a small team
- Are organized, reliable and have a robust work ethic
- Like learning, creating and occasionally getting a little weird with meat
Bonus points for: Charcuterie experience, sausage making, whole-animal butchery, culinary training—or simply an obsessive love of good food.
We're a small, growing business with a big focus on ethical sourcing, nose-to-tail butchery, local agriculture and making food worth getting excited about.
