About the Role Reporting to the Manager, VFF, Process Equipment & MRO Categories, the Category Specialist Valves, Fittings, Flanges & Process Equipment supports materials and equipment strategy development and execution, supplier performance and relationship management, contract formation and management, and category‑specific standardization across all business units with an annual enterprise‑wide spend of approximately $300million.

Responsibilities - Lead and execute category strategies for valves, fittings, flanges and process equipment throughout the full lifecycle—development, implementation, and sustainment.

- Drive data‑based decisions through market intelligence, spend analysis, supplier capacity assessment and forecasting.
- Identify and compile internal long‑term demand forecasts for Canada, the United States and Mexico.
- Facilitate and lead materials and equipment standardization initiatives with internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate enterprise‑wide initiatives across multiple business units, regions and regulatory jurisdictions.
- Enable project execution by contributing to category execution strategies and project‑specific procurement plans.
- Manage supplier performance and relationships, including KPI tracking, issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and/or support contract formation, negotiation, management, improvement, interpretation and claims management.
- Support change management and communications to ensure category strategies and agreements are clearly understood and adopted throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications - Undergraduate degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution.

- Minimum six (6) years of progressive related experience.





Preferred Qualifications - Designation or enrollment in a Supply Chain Management program such as ISM, SCMP, CSCMP, IACCM, or a Professional Engineer or PMP qualification.

- Experience with valves, fittings, flanges and process equipment.
- Proficiency with relevant systems and tools such as SAP, Ariba, MS Project and Excel.
- Strong planning, project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi‑task under high‑pressure situations.
- Solid technical aptitude and the ability to identify and articulate value creation opportunities based on spend, market and business analysis.
- Ability to facilitate adoption of best practices based on interactions with leading suppliers.
