Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Centre Cook to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring that meal service runs smoothly. Your enthusiasm for food preparation and commitment to healthy eating will help create a positive dining experience for our little learners.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook balanced, nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu plans
- Ensure all food handling practices meet safety standards to promote a safe environment for children
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies
- Assist with meal planning based on dietary needs, preferences, and nutritional requirements
- Serve meals in a friendly, welcoming manner that encourages healthy eating habits
- Follow all food safety protocols, including proper sanitation, temperature control, and hygiene procedures
- Collaborate with staff to ensure timely meal service aligned with daily schedules

Skills





- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a food service or restaurant environment
- Knowledge of food handling safety standards and best practices in the food industry
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques suitable for children
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment, utensils, and cleaning procedures
- Previous food service experience in childcare or educational settings is a plus
