Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Class One Winch Truck Driver to join our team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty winch trucks to transport and recover heavy equipment and materials, ensuring safe and timely deliveries. Your expertise will help keep our operations running smoothly across diverse terrains and job sites.
Duties
- Operate Class One winch trucks safely to load, unload, and recover heavy equipment and freight.
- Use forklifts and other heavy machinery as needed to assist with loading and securing cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks, winches, and safety equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain accurate logs of all trips, cargo details, and safety checks in compliance with federal regulations.
- Assist with minor repairs or troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
- Follow all safety protocols during vehicle operation, loading and unloading, and site access.
- Communicate effectively with team members, dispatchers, and site personnel to coordinate deliveries.
Requirements
- Valid Class One commercial driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating winch trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles in a commercial setting.
- Ability to operate equipment proficiently for loading and unloading.
- Proven knowledge of winching operations.
- Basic repair skills for troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to heavy vehicle operation and freight transport.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as loading/unloading equipment, securing cargo, and inspecting equipment.
If you’re ready to take on an energetic role that combines skilled driving with hands-on equipment operation, we welcome your application! We value safety, reliability, and efficiency. Drivers are expected to be available for their HOS-allotted hours each week unless time off is booked in advance. Also expected to be prepared for and able to go out on the road for days when required. We cover all of Canada, but focus primarily on Western Canada. If required to do a 36-hour reset on the road, or if operational or mechanical delays occur, drivers are paid 8 hours minimum for every 24 hours sitting as well as hotel accomodations provided. Loading and unloading can be extremely physical. Multi-axle combination experience is an asset. Oversize and overweight permitted loads are the norm. Pay: $38.00-$45.00 per hour
