Serve as a Clinical Psychiatrist with the Canadian Armed Forces, delivering mental health services and leadership at facilities across Canada. Focus on collaboration with health professionals and telepsychiatry for member support. As a Psychiatrist in the CAF, you're vital to providing care, conducting assessments, and ensuring the well-being of military personnel.
Engage in operations, policy development, and mentorship of health professionals, enhancing mental health practices within the CAF. Your contributions will influence patient outcomes and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical assessments and manage psychiatric care
- Support multidisciplinary teams in mental health services
- Advise and influence local military health leadership
- Participate in policy development and implementation
- Utilize telepsychiatry for distant member support
Requirements:
- Must be a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons
- Unrestricted psychiatrist license in a Canadian territory
- Complete Basic Military Officer Qualification
- Willing to engage in additional specialty training
- Solid expertise in clinical psychiatric practices
