The Department of Psychology invites applications from qualified individuals for a Clinical Supervisor position within the Lakehead University Psychology Community Clinic (LUPCC). This is a part‑time, temporary contract position, with flexible dates. The purpose of the Clinical Supervisor role is to increase access to high-quality evidence‑based psychological services for health, social service, first responder, and related roles in Northwestern Ontario.

Possible services include in‑community education, consultation, co‑facilitation, and direct interventions through supervised MA/PhD psychology trainees. The supervisor will help determine the direction, scope, and timing of training and intervention opportunities for students and community partners, in alignment with the Department of Psychology’s clinical programs’ goals and direction. The contract provides compensation of $16,000–$20,000 for 200–250 hours of clinical training and supervision, to be scheduled flexibly in response to the needs of the Clinic, trainees, and community partners, and availability of the Clinical Supervisor.

The overall purpose of this position is to support in‑community delivery of psychological services while building trainee skills in interprofessional collaboration, evidence‑based interventions, clinical documentation, and ethical practice. This role is intended to enhance access to psychological services in Northwestern Ontario through supervised trainee involvement.

The type of clinical training and service delivery will depend on the Clinical Supervisor's practice area(s) and competencies, as well as the needs identified in community settings.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Clinic Director or alternate,



the Clinical Supervisor will provide clinical training and supervision to LUPCC MA and PhD clinical psychology trainees delivering services in community settings through execution of the following duties and responsibilities:

- Providing clinical supervision to MA- and PhD‑level trainees throughout the contract period. There may also be an opportunity to supervise senior doctoral students gaining experience with supervision ("supervision of supervision"), depending on service needs and the Clinical Supervisor's skill set.
- Reviewing trainee documentation, reports, education materials, and intervention plans.
- Maintaining client and supervision records in accordance with legislation, professional standards, and LUPCC policies.
- Completing trainee evaluation forms and maintaining ongoing communication with the Clinic Director, Practicum Coordinator, and broader program leadership, as needed, regarding trainee progress and possible remediation needs.
- Ensuring their own and trainee adherence to the standards and ethics of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario, relevant legislation, and Lakehead University and LUPCC policies and procedures.
- Supporting the delivery of evidence‑based services tailored to high‑stress professional roles, including possible areas such as trauma‑informed care, stress management, group facilitation, consultation, and community‑based interventions.
- Helping determine the direction, scope, and timing of student training and intervention opportunities in collaboration with the Clinic Director and community partners, aligned with the Department of Psychology goals and direction.

Qualifications





- Registration as a Psychologist or Psychological Associate with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
- Preference will be given to applicants with a doctorate in clinical psychology from a CPA‑ or APA‑accredited program.
- Demonstrated professionalism and excellence in clinical supervision.
- Experience supporting trainees in evidence‑based practices for high‑stress professions considered an asset.
- Robust written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with trauma‑informed care, group facilitation, interprofessional collaboration, or community‑based interventions is preferred.
- Availability for in‑person or hybrid supervision in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario communities.
