Job Title: IMS DB/Cobol Developer

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)

Rate: CAD$55-65/hr INC

- z/OS application development IMS DB DL/I programming, HLASM routines, JCL, batch/online patterns.
- Required skills — COBOL, IMS DB/TM, VSAM, z/OS tooling
- Preferred skills — CICS, DB2, z/OS Connect EE, IBM Wazi, DevOps
- Interpret and document functional flows of Cobol jobs, including interpreting the IMS DB call sequence, segment access, and copybook overlaps to determine attribute access and usage.
- Write and maintain batch COBOL/ Assembler programs, perform code walkthroughs, and optimise CPU-intensive routines.performance-critical subroutines, exit routines, and system macros;

- IMS DB Programming Code DL/I calls (GU, GN, GHU, ISRT, DLET, REPL), design PCBs within PSBs, interpret and update DBDs, resolve IMS status codes (GE, GB, II, etc.).
- JCL & Scheduling Author and maintain JCL PROC streams, resolve JCL errors, and coordinate job scheduling with CA 7 / TWS operators.
- IMS TM Transactions Develop and test MPP, BMP, and IFP transaction programs; handle message queues, MFS screen definitions, and terminal interaction flows
