About the Project
You will be part of our Hazel McCallion LRT project, playing a key role in driving its success and contributing to one of Canada’s most exciting infrastructure projects. We are hiring a Commissioning Engineer to step into a new role on our Delivery team on the Hazel McCallion LRT. This position reports to the Commissioning Manager.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise MEP installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities in compliance with project specifications, contracts, and industry standards. Develop, review, and maintain testing and commissioning procedures, inspection test plans (ITPs), method statements, and commissioning documentation. Coordinate multidisciplinary testing, commissioning, and system integration activities to ensure readiness for functional testing and final project acceptance.
Manage commissioning documentation, test reports, and ensure compliance with contractual, quality, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with construction, engineering, quality, safety, and commissioning teams to achieve timely inspections, testing, punch list clearance, and system handovers. Monitor installation progress, conduct site inspections, verify compliance with drawings and specifications, and prepare progress and performance reports.
Support project planning by identifying constraints, mitigating risks, and implementing look-ahead planning and pull-planning activities. Ensure safe execution of subcontractor activities while supporting quality inspections, Engineer of Record (EoR) inspections, hazard mitigation, and HSE compliance. Support project close-out by coordinating final commissioning, verifying as-built documentation, resolving outstanding issues, and preparing complete handover packages for client acceptance. 5+ years of experience in commissioning and experience in Construction/MEP Coordination Experience in D&B; Railway or subway or LRT projects.
Must have experience with commissioning and safety certifications of systems on major infrastructure projects.
Strong grasp of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of project. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred Experienced dealing with MEP subcontracts and subcontractors Additional Notes Successful candidates chosen for this position can expect to earn between $80,000.00 CAD - $90,000.00 CAD The exact salary you will earn within this range is dependant on the specific project to which you are assigned.
