Become the Community Social Development Leader for the City of Richmond. Drive strategic direction and manage essential social initiatives to enhance community health and well-being. Richmond is looking for an experienced leader to manage its Community Social Development Department.
As the Director, you will advise Council and senior management on critical social policies while addressing diverse community needs. Key areas include homelessness, child care, and accessibility, ensuring programs resonate with local priorities. Key Responsibilities:
- Direct social planning and research programs for community well-being
- Develop and implement strategies for vulnerable populations
- Manage budgets and oversee community grant programs
- Foster relationships with local health authorities and educational institutions
- Guide departments in developing responsive social policies Requirements:
- Degree in social planning, public policy, or urban planning
- Minimum 10 years in government social development roles
- Experience leading complex teams in public sectors
- Knowledge of community planning and engagement principles
