Role Description The Construction Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role oversees projects from preconstruction through closeout, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination of resources for commercial, industrial, and institutional construction projects.
Day-to-day responsibilities include leading project meetings, managing subcontractors and suppliers, monitoring site progress, and ensuring compliance with safety standards, building codes, and client requirements.
The Construction Project
Manager will prepare and update project documentation, review drawings and specifications, track change orders, and report on cost and schedule performance.
This position collaborates closely with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to maintain clear communication, resolve issues proactively, and deliver projects to agreed quality, time, and cost targets.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Construction Project Management and Construction Management skills, with experience overseeing projects from initiation to completion.
- Candidates should possess solid Project Management and Project Coordination skills to manage schedules, resources, and stakeholder communication effectively.
- Candidates should possess demonstrated Budgeting skills, including cost estimating, financial tracking, and change management.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of commercial and industrial construction practices, building codes, and health and safety regulations.
- Candidates should possess effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings, prepare reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Candidates should possess strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on risk management and quality control.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with construction project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, scheduling software, and document management platforms).
- Post-secondary education in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field, and several years of relevant project management experience in the construction sector are highly beneficial.
