About the job
As part of the team, you will help deliver customer service by providing accurate information and support for a range of government programs and services. Work is varied and customer-focused, with each interaction offering the opportunity to help members of the public navigate important services. In this role, you can expect to:
- provide information and support to members of the public and business community by phone, email and online regarding government programs, services and resources
- explain policies, guidelines, procedures and program requirements
- help clients resolve issues accessing services or information and connect them with the appropriate area for further support when needed
- maintain accurate records, files and electronic databases
- prepare reports, correspondence and other business documents
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
- You must possess oral French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.
Customer service and communication skills
You have experience with:
- providing customer service in a busy, high-volume environment, such as a contact centre or customer service setting
- listening carefully, asking questions, and providing accurate information and guidance
- handling customer concerns and finding solutions to resolve issues
- communicating clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
Problem-solving and analytical skills
You can:
- gather information, assess situations, and determine appropriate solutions
- identify customer needs, including those that may not be immediately apparent
- use sound judgement, discretion, and tact when handling customer inquiries and concerns
- analyze information and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines to support decision-making
Collaboration and organizational skills
You can:
- work in a collaborative, team-focused environment
- build positive working relationships and contribute ideas to support team goals
- adapt to changing priorities and operational needs
- organize your work effectively and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic setting
Program knowledge and research skills
You can:
- research, interpret, and explain information related to government programs and services
- apply legislation, regulations, policies, and guidelines to provide accurate information and service
- locate, assess, and use information from multiple sources to respond to customer inquiries
Technical skills
You can:
- use common computer applications, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and online tools
- research and retrieve information using electronic systems and reference materials
- maintain accurate records and files with attention to detail
