We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our Airline Operations team at the Calgary office, located at the YYC airport. Reporting directly to the Airline Ops Integrations Team, this role is pivotal in building and maintaining critical software applications and integrations that ensure seamless airline operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous approach to data quality, a passion for programming—particularly in Python—and a drive for delivering high-quality results. This position involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to develop robust data pipelines, optimize data processing workflows, and support the organization’s strategic goals through effective data management. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field ~5+ years of experience working in large‑scale data warehouse environments ~ Proven experience in building critical real‑world solutions within airline, transportation, logistics, or similarly complex industries ~5+ years of demonstrated SQL development expertise ~3+ years of Data Warehouse experience in project settings ~2+ years of experience developing data pipelines and Data Lake/Lakehouse solutions using Apache Spark/PySpark, preferably with Databricks or similar platforms ~ Certifications in Azure Data Engineering or Snowflake are considered advantageous ~ Proficiency in data dimensional modeling, data analysis, and data mining techniques ~ Expertise in SQL scripting, window functions, and query optimization ~ Experience with custom file formats, ingestion monitoring, and automation tools ~ Knowledge of handling PII data, data masking, and security by design principles ~ Experience with cloud data migration, multi‑source ingestion, and enterprise data warehousing solutions like Snowflake and WhereScape ~ Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Bash,
