Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled DataStage Developer to design, build, and maintain robust Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) solutions using the IBM InfoSphere DataStage platform. In this role, you will collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and cross-functional teams to integrate complex data streams into our enterprise data systems.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in parallel job design, data warehousing methodologies, and database performance tuning to ensure seamless, highly efficient data flows across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- ETL Architecture & Development : Design, build, and deploy scalable ETL processes using IBM InfoSphere DataStage (Designer, Director, QualityStage) to move and transform data from diverse source systems into target data warehouses and data marts.
- Workflow Optimization : Develop and manage complex DataStage parallel jobs, server jobs, and job sequences to automate end-to-end data processing pipelines.
- Database & Performance Tuning : Write and optimize complex SQL queries, PL/SQL scripts, and stored procedures across relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, or SQL Server.
- Process Automation : Create and maintain Unix/Linux shell scripts to facilitate batch processing, file management, and automation schedules.
- Monitoring & Troubleshooting : Oversee scheduled production jobs, perform root cause analysis (RCA) on job failures,



and debug performance bottlenecks to ensure data reliability and uptime.
- Data Quality & Governance : Implement data cleansing, validation rules, and transformation logic to enforce strict data governance and high quality standards.
- Collaboration & Documentation : Create detailed technical specifications, source-to-target mapping documents, and operational playbooks to preserve institutional knowledge and support cross-functional tech teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Core ETL Experience : Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience specializing in IBM InfoSphere DataStage development and enterprise data integration.
- Database Proficiency : Solid mastery of SQL and relational database concepts, including index optimization, partition management, and data modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas).
- Scripting Skills : Solid working knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting (bash, ksh) for pre- and post-processing ETL tasks.
- Problem Solving : Proven track record of debugging complex data flows, handling mainframe or flat-file integrations, and executing performance tuning.
- Communication : Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with an ability to articulate technical data transformations to non-technical stakeholders.
