Embedded Engineer

Embedded RTOS & Linux

Full-time Hybrid, Victoria BC preferred, Calgary AB and SF

About The Role You will build the embedded layer of the current grid. This role covers firmware for microcontrollers and embedded Linux systems that power the Energy Router, bridging hardware, wireless networks, secure device management, and real-time decision-making. The device makes sub-second decisions without a cloud round-trip.

What you'll own

- Firmware design and deployment across microcontrollers and embedded Linux
- Hardware bring-up, drivers, communications stacks, and secure deployment
- Device reliability, fleet behavior, and field performance
- Engineering tradeoffs in resource-constrained and real-time environments

What you'll bring
- 5+ years of embedded development experience
- Strong experience with RTOS and/or embedded Linux
- Comfort across the stack: bare metal, drivers, comms, and deployment
- Fluency with secure deployment and fleet management practices
- Good judgment in constrained, real-world systems

Nice to have
- Nordic or similar SoC experience




- Wireless networking or edge device security experience
- Experience in power electronics, building systems, or energy devices

What success looks like in the first 6 months
- You improve device reliability and field robustness
- Firmware and deployment workflows get tighter and more dependable
- You become a key technical owner of the Energy Router platform

Compensation Canada: C$100,000 - C$145,000 California: US$145,000 - US$195,000
