Position Overview Pediatric Emergency Physician – full‑time (0.40–0.80 FTE) or part‑time position at British Columbia Children’s Hospital, Vancouver, BC.
Responsibilities Deliver acute clinical care to children and youth in the Emergency Department. Participate in undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education programmes of the Division of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics at the University of British Columbia. Engage in divisional and departmental operational initiatives and staff meetings.
Support and contribute to clinical and health‑services research within the division. Provide provincial leadership in pediatric emergency medicine and collaborate with other faculty on research, education, or quality‑improvement projects. Bring an identified non‑clinical expertise (e.g., quality improvement, education, point‑of‑care ultrasound, toxicology) to enhance group activities.
Qualifications Completed a subspecialty residency‑training programme in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or Emergency Medicine accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or hold CCFP‑EM certification. For candidates without subspecialty residency training,
evidence of significant experience practising in an Emergency Department with substantial pediatric volume and complexity. Eligible for a specialist license as determined by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
Demonstrated commitment to academic and research activities aligned with the institution’s mission.
Employment Details
Clinical commitments are negotiable between 0.40 FTE and 0.80 FTE. Positions are immediately available and will be filled on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
