Engineering Assistant

Hours : Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (with the potential of some flexibility)

Salary : $42,150.58 - $52,688.23

Start Date : September 2026

Contract: 16-month contract with an opportunity to continue to grow within the organization.

POSITION DETAILS:

The Engineering Assistant will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Responsibilities are a variety of technical, analytical and data processing tasks for the Resource Management Department. This position reports to the Managing Director, Natural Hazards and Infrastructure.

WHAT YOU OFFER:

- Post-secondary education in environmental, resource management, water resources engineering or related discipline.
- Knowledge of water resources, water quality, flow monitoring, calibrations/care of field equipment, and file management.
- Ability and aptitude for field work.
- Knowledge with computer applications,



such as, ArcGIS Online, MS Access, MS-Excel, and SharePoint.
- Knowledge of field data collection and processing.
- Surveying experience is an asset.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
- Enthusiasm, determination, and the ability to work independently.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
- Valid Class “G” Driver’s License.

LOCATION:

The SNC office is in a rural location in Finch, Ontario, southeast of Ottawa. The successful candidate must have reliable transportation.
