We are looking for a keen, organized, dedicated, experienced Appropriately Qualified Professional (AQP) / Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP): RBTech or higher located in BC - Lower Mainland or Fraser Valley. AquaTerra Environmental Ltd. is a client-focused, cost-effective environmental consulting firm specializing in both aquatic and terrestrial environments. We provide environmental services including environmental monitoring, fish and wildlife surveys, habitat and environmental impact assessments, species-at-risk surveys and salvages, GIS mapping, erosion and sediment control, and habitat compensation and enhancement design.

Projects are led by intermediate and senior personnel, including Registered Professional Biologists, Qualified Environmental Professionals, BC Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Leads, arborists, agrologists, risk assessors, and certified electrofishers. AquaTerra partners closely with engineering, geotechnical, and contaminated sites firms to offer integrated, end-to-end project support. The team supports clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing continuity and specialized expertise throughout each project.

Role Description The Environmental Monitor / Field Lead is a full-time, hybrid role based in Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland BC, with some flexibility for work from home. In this position, the Environmental Monitor / Field Lead oversees site activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permit conditions, and best management practices and reviews and authors monitoring reports as well as liaises with clients and directs field crews. Typical day-to-day tasks include conducting field inspections, monitoring erosion and sediment control measures, observing construction or development activities, and documenting environmental conditions through field notes, photographs,



and standardized reports.

Experience with invasive species, as well as bird and fish / wildlife identification are also assets. The role involves identifying potential environmental risks, communicating recommendations to project managers and contractors, and supporting mitigation and remediation measures in both aquatic and terrestrial settings.

The Environmental

Monitor collaborates with multidisciplinary team members, attends site meetings, contributes to environmental assessments, and maintains accurate records to support regulatory reporting and project close-out. Qualifications

Appropriately Qualified Professional (AQP) / Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP): RBTech or higher.

Experience in environmental monitoring and fieldwork, including erosion and sediment control, aquatic and terrestrial habitat observation, and compliance inspections.

Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations, guidelines, and permitting processes in British Columbia, particularly related to construction, fish and wildlife, and habitat protection.

Proficiency in data collection and reporting, including accurate field notes, use of GPS and basic GIS tools, and preparation of clear, concise monitoring reports.

Robust communication and collaboration skills for working with project teams, contractors, regulators, and community stakeholders on site-related issues.

Ability to work safely in a variety of outdoor conditions, including remote or rugged environments, and to follow health and safety protocols and procedures.

Previous experience with environmental consulting, construction monitoring, species-at-risk considerations, and habitat assessments is considered beneficial.

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to field sites, and readiness.

Salary + bonuses and perks: $38-42/hr (hourly rate)
