- Read, analyse and interpret shop drawings;

- Plan and prepare jobs, create layouts, fabricate assemblies;

- Collaborate with Supervisor, Estimation and Quality Departments;

- Set up and operate fabricating tools, machines and welding equipment;

- Accurately measure dimensions and assure quality of work produced is acceptable to company standards, ISO Standards and customer specifications;

- Working in a group environment where assisting and training others will be occasionally required;

- Maintain a safe work environment;

- Other duties as required;

- Journeyman or Red Seal fabricator certification would be an asset, but experience and willingness to achieve journeyman status will be considered;

- Problem-solving skills to methodically and logically work through problems;

- Work in an workplace that is tolerant and respectful of others and promotes same;

- Experience working in a steel manufacturing / production environment;

- Experience welding with MCAW, GMAW and FCAW;





- Experience with fitting structural steel shapes, plate work and custom fabrications;

- Experience with steel fabrication techniques, steel grades and shapes;

- English speaking and comprehension for understanding instructions and safety regulations;

- Overhead crane and forklift operation with current certification would be and asset;

- Ability to work 8 hours per day pushing, pulling, lifting maximum of 50 pounds, and be capable of bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and sitting for extended periods. Successful candidates must be discrete, reliable, dependable and trustworthy and be able to work independently with the ability to anticipate next steps with minimal direction. Candidates must have the ability to focus on task, avoid distraction and complete projects within reasonable time.
