AGLC is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the daily operation of its owned and leased facilities. This hands-on role is focused on maintaining safe, functional, and responsive workplace environments through the timely resolution of service requests. As a highly customer-focused position, the role regularly engages with employees at all levels of the organization, requiring strong communication skills, responsiveness, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional workplace experience that supports employee comfort, safety, and productivity.
In this position, you will provide maintenance, repair, and project services across the AGLC portfolio, applying trade-based knowledge to support renovations, workstation installations, building envelop repairs, furniture moves, locksmithing services,
and door hardware systems. You will play a key role in meeting operational requirements and maintaining high-quality, functional work environments across the organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prioritize and manage daily service requests to meet established service level agreements
Monitor service requests through to completion and maintain high service standards
Perform structural and interior maintenance across facilities, including roofs, walls, windows, and doors
Maintain interior elements such as flooring, ceilings, finishes, and millwork
Service fire-rated doors and life safety structural components
Perform preventative maintenance activities on building envelope components
Support workspace planning, reconfiguration, relocations, and minor renovation projects
Assemble modular furniture systems (e.g., Teknion, Haworth, Boulevard, Reff)
Support corporate event setups and takedowns
Coordinate, support, and inspect third-party contractors work onsite
Inspect contractor work to ensure quality and compliance standards are met
Maintain logs for tools, equipment, and fleet vehicles
Use SAP systems (including SAP EAM) to document work orders and maintenance activities
Complete Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and ensure compliance with OH&S; regulations SKILLS & ABILITIES
Journeyperson certification in either of the following fields, with a minimum of 3 years of post-certification experience.
Journeyperson Carpenter
Journeyperson Millwright
Journeyperson Cabinet Maker
Experience in commercial facilities maintenance within multi-site environments
Strong furniture systems and architectural maintenance knowledge
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Advanced understanding of building systems, materials, and construction methods
Experience in workspace planning and ergonomic principles
Ability to travel within Alberta (up to 15%)
Valid Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
Ability to safely work at heights (ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts)
Physically capable of manual work, including lifting up to 50 lbs
Assets include
Locksmith certification or experience with lock systems and door hardware NOTE:
