About the Role

We are looking for a Fashion Designer to join our fully remote Canadian team. You will design and develop apparel, uniforms, soft accessories, and related product prototypes that support our client and internal projects. The work combines traditional design skills with modern digital tools and processes. AI tools are part of the regular daily working process.

This is a mid-level design role focused on creating practical, production-ready concepts from initial idea through sample development.

Key Responsibilities

- Research trends, materials, and market needs to inform apparel and uniform designs
- Create design concepts, technical sketches, and detailed specifications for outerwear, apparel, and soft accessories
- Develop seasonal and project-based colour palettes, mood boards, and line concepts
- Manage design development from concept through sampling and final specifications
- Work with digital tools to produce accurate sketches, tech packs, and visual presentations
- Support prototype development, including digital and physical samples where required
- Collaborate with the design and product teams to refine fit, construction, and materials
- Use modern AI tools as a standard part of the design workflow to accelerate concepting, variation generation, and technical documentation
- Track progress against development timelines and maintain organized design files

Requirements
- Current and valid Dex Professional Specialist Certification (DEX-PSP) or higher Skilled-level Dex certification is mandatory. Candidates without a current qualifying Dex certification will not be considered or invited to interview.
- Robust portfolio demonstrating apparel or fashion product design work
- 2–5 years of professional experience in fashion design, apparel design, or product development
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and related design tools
- Solid understanding of garment construction, fabrics, fit, and technical specifications
- Ability to create clear tech packs and design documentation




- Comfortable using AI tools as a regular part of the design process
- Strong organization and communication skills for remote collaboration
- Must be eligible to work in Canada with a valid Social Insurance Number. This role is 100% remote and open only to candidates who can work legally in Canada. No sponsorship, LMIA, or work permits will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications
- Dex Professional Specialist Certification (DEX-PSP) — https://www.askfordex.ca/products/dex-professional-certification
- Experience with digital pattern or 3D apparel tools (CLO3D, Browzwear, or similar)
- Background in uniform, workwear, or functional apparel design
- Knowledge of sustainable materials and production considerations
- Sewing and pattern-making experience is an asset
