Role Description The Financial Director is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing the studio’s financial health and performance. Day-to-day work includes developing financial plans and budgets, monitoring cash flow, and preparing regular financial reports for leadership. The role manages financial statements, reviews project profitability, and provides analysis to support pricing, resource allocation, and strategic decisions.
The Financial
Director ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards and assists with tax preparation and coordination with external accountants.
This position collaborates closely with the leadership team to refine financial processes, mitigate risk, and support long-term growth.
Qualifications
- Strong Finance and Financial Planning skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting, with the ability to prepare and interpret balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Advanced Analytical Skills to evaluate project performance, identify trends, and recommend data-driven decisions.
- Experience with accounting software and financial tools; familiarity with small business or professional services environments is beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and communicate clearly with non-financial stakeholders.
- Knowledge of tax, compliance, and financial risk management relevant to design or creative industries is advantageous.
