Overview

We are currently seeking motivated and reliable FTTH Labourers to support our Outside Plant (OSP) construction crews. This role is critical in the installation and maintenance of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure, including trenching, conduit placement, and site restoration.

This is a physically demanding, hands-on role suited for individuals who thrive in outdoor work environments and are committed to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

- Assist in trenching, excavation, and backfilling for fiber optic cable installation
- Support conduit placement, handhole, pedestal, and vault installations
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment on-site
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite
- Assist directional drill and hydrovac crews as required
- Follow all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations (OHSA compliance)
- Participate in daily tailboard meetings and hazard assessments




- Perform general labour duties as assigned by the Foreman
- Must be able to read locates

Experience

- Previous experience in construction or telecommunications (OSP/FTTH preferred)
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license (G License preferred)
- Solid work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and construction practices
- Must be safety-focused and compliant with PPE requirements

Working Conditions

- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Early start times ( 7:00 AM)
- Physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

837 members preferred, must be willing to join the union. Pay: $30.00 per hour
