Duties
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote learning through play, exploration, and creativity.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that encourages social skills, cooperation, and emotional regulation.
- Monitor and assess each child's progress, documenting developmental milestones and communicating with families regularly.
- Support children with diverse needs by adapting activities and providing tailored care for those with disabilities or special educational requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans, share best practices, and ensure consistent quality of care.
- Use computer skills to maintain accurate records, update lesson plans, and communicate effectively with parents and team members.
Skills
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French is a strong asset for bilingual communication.
- Demonstrated experience working with children in educational or childcare settings.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, child development stages, and age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special educational needs; familiarity with inclusive practices is preferred.
- Robust communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities, schedules, and documentation efficiently.
- Ability to operate computers confidently for record keeping, lesson planning, and correspondence.
- Leadership qualities to guide young learners positively while fostering independence and confidence.
- Time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities seamlessly throughout the day.
