Job Summary

M.A.R.S. Metal and Recycling Services is looking for a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with sorting, organizing, and stacking various types of scrap metal while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, works well in a team, and is committed to workplace safety.

No previous experience is required; training will be provided. Experience in recycling, construction, warehousing, or general labour is considered an asset.

Job Duties

Responsibilities:

- Sort and separate different types of scrap metal according to company procedures.
- Stack, organize, and store materials in designated areas.
- Load and unload materials safely by hand or with equipment, as required.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Identify and remove non-metal or hazardous materials from recyclable loads.
- Assist with general yard maintenance and housekeeping.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals.
- Operate basic tools and equipment safely (training provided where required).




- Perform other general labour duties as assigned.

Experience

- Previous experience in general labour, recycling, construction, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial work is an asset but not required.
- On-the-job training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Experience sorting scrap metal or operating equipment such as a forklift, skid steer, or loader is considered an asset.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow instructions are essential.
