Role Description

This full-time, on-site General Manager role is based at Chapel Heights in Niagara Falls, ON.

The General

Manager oversees day-to-day operations of the retirement community, ensuring high-quality resident services, safety, and satisfaction.

Responsibilities include leading and coaching multidisciplinary staff, managing budgets and financial performance, and maintaining regulatory and compliance standards. The role involves collaborating with clinical and care teams, overseeing dining, housekeeping, and maintenance services, and supporting the development of programs that enrich resident lifestyle.

The General

Manager also builds strong relationships with residents, families, and community partners, supports marketing and occupancy initiatives, and promotes the organization’s mission, vision, and values in all aspects of community life.

Qualifications





Management course completion or minimum 3 years equivalent experience.

Experience in managing a care facility.

Excellent supervisory, leadership, and communication skills.

Strong knowledge of finance, human resources, marketing, and department coordination.

Registered Nurse recommended.

Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word.

Initiative, good judgment, and the ability to foster a positive work environment.

Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

Leadership and management skills, including team supervision, staff development, and performance management.

Operational and financial management skills, such as budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.

Resident and family relations skills, including strong customer service, conflict resolution, and communication abilities.

Experience in retirement living, long-term care, senior housing, or related healthcare or hospitality environments.

Knowledge of applicable provincial regulations, health and safety standards, and quality assurance practices.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.

Proficiency with common office software and systems;

experience with care or property management software is an asset.

Relevant post-secondary education in business administration, healthcare administration, hospitality management, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Ability to work in office full time and to be available for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities as operational needs require.
