General Practitioner in Medical Oncology

Employer: BC Cancer – East Kootenay Regional Hospital

Location: Cranbrook, BC

Employment Type: Regular, Part‑Time (0.50 FTE)

Overview

You will participate exclusively in the care of oncology patients, addressing treatment and follow‑up for curative and palliative plans and potentially clinical trials. You will report to the Head of Medical Oncology, BC Cancer‑Kelowna, and work within a specialized oncology team.

Responsibilities

- Provide general outpatient medical oncology services to patients.
- Participate in treatment planning and follow‑up for curative and palliative oncology patients.
- Engage in clinical trial activities as appropriate.
- Collaborate with oncology team members for patient care, research, teaching, and standard of care.
- Attend didactic virtual teaching and in‑clinic patient instruction as part of training program.

Qualifications

- Eligible for licensure in British Columbia.
- Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP) at the time of appointment.




- Suitable for appointment to the University of British Columbia.
- Willingness to undergo training if no prior GPO experience.
- Commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and reconciliation principles (TRC 2015, BC Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act 2019).
