Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Asset Management Specialist to support the management, analysis, and visualization of geospatial data across Oil & Gas operations. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining GIS solutions that support pipeline systems, production facilities, wellsites, gathering networks, right-of-way corridors, and other critical energy infrastructure. The position combines geospatial technology, asset management, operational technology (OT), and data analytics to improve asset visibility, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure reliability.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Oil & Gas asset management programs through the use of GIS technologies, enterprise geodatabases, and spatial analytics. They will possess a strong understanding of linear assets, pipeline integrity management, facility mapping, land ownership and right-of-way data, and the integration of GIS with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), CMMS, SCADA, and industrial systems. This role will work closely with engineering, operations, integrity, cybersecurity, and project teams to deliver geospatial solutions that support safe, efficient, and data-driven decision-making across the asset lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

GIS Administration & Geospatial Management

Develop, maintain, and manage enterprise GIS databases, applications, and geospatial datasets.

Create, edit, analyze, and maintain spatial data related to infrastructure assets, utilities, industrial facilities, pipelines, transportation networks, and operational systems.

Design and maintain GIS maps, dashboards, web applications, and geospatial reporting tools.

Ensure data integrity, quality control, and consistency across GIS environments.

Support GIS data collection, migration, validation, and system integration activities.

Develop cartographic products, dashboards, and visualizations that support operational and business decision-making.

Manage geodatabases and ensure compliance with GIS standards and best practices.

Oil & Gas Geospatial Asset Management

Maintain and manage geospatial data for pipelines, facilities, wellsites, rights-of-way, and other Oil & Gas infrastructure assets.

Support pipeline integrity, regulatory compliance, and asset management initiatives through accurate spatial data management.

Develop GIS maps, dashboards, and geospatial analytics to support operations, maintenance, engineering, and integrity teams.

Manage spatial datasets related to land ownership, easements, rights-of-way, environmental constraints, and regulatory requirements.

Support facility and pipeline lifecycle projects, including new construction, modifications, inspections, and decommissioning activities.

Perform spatial analysis to identify asset risks, optimize maintenance planning, and improve operational performance.

Integrate GIS data with SCADA, integrity management, production, and asset management systems to improve operational visibility and decision-making.

Enterprise Systems Integration

Integrate GIS platforms with: Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems

Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)

SCADA systems

Industrial IoT (IIoT) platforms

ERP systems

Operations Technology (OT) environments

Support integrations between GIS, OT, and business systems to improve operational visibility and process efficiency.

Collaborate with software development, data, and engineering teams to automate workflows and improve data accessibility.

Data Analytics & Reporting

Develop geospatial analyses, operational reports,



and asset intelligence dashboards.

Conduct spatial analysis to identify trends, risks, performance gaps, and optimization opportunities.

Utilize GIS and business intelligence tools to support planning and decision-making.

Produce executive-level reports and operational performance metrics.

Support data governance, quality assurance, and master data management initiatives.

Operations Technology & Cybersecurity Support

Support geospatial and asset data integration within OT environments.

Assist with asset inventory validation and critical infrastructure documentation.

Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure asset information is properly governed and protected.

Support digital transformation and process optimization initiatives involving GIS, OT, and industrial systems.

Contribute to asset visibility, infrastructure mapping, and cybersecurity asset management initiatives.

Client Engagement & Project Delivery

Participate in client workshops, requirements gathering, and solution design activities.

Provide technical expertise on GIS, asset management, and infrastructure digitization projects.

Support project planning, deployment, testing, training, and user adoption activities.

Prepare technical documentation, procedures, standards, and user guides.

Deliver solutions that improve operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and asset performance.

Experience

Minimum 5+ years of experience in GIS, Asset Management, Oil & Gas infrastructure management, pipeline operations, utilities, or related industrial environments.

Experience supporting enterprise GIS, asset management, and geospatial data platforms for pipelines, facilities, wellsites, rights-of-way, and other critical infrastructure assets.

Experience within the Oil & Gas, energy, utilities, industrial automation, transportation, telecommunications, or critical infrastructure sectors.

Strong understanding of pipeline networks, linear assets, facility mapping, right-of-way management, asset integrity programs, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Experience integrating GIS solutions with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), CMMS, SCADA, Industrial IoT (IIoT), and Operations Technology (OT) systems.

Experience supporting digital transformation, operational excellence, asset lifecycle management, and process optimization initiatives within industrial environments.
