Position: Goods Receiver

Base Location: London

Department: Purchasing

Reporting To: Purchasing Manager / Purchasing Assistant

Tasks/Responsibilities

- Receive all deliveries with particular emphasis on food items (attaining the quality laid out by the Head Chef, sufficient expiry dates and acceptance of the correct quantity)
- Reception of all other Hotel materials, ensuring that goods are matched to Purchase orders
- Ensure correct quantity and weight of all goods
- Monitor, record and control food delivery temperatures
- Maintaining and ordering of sufficient stocks in all stores as agreed par levels
- Make sure Departments are informed when goods are received and need to be collected
- Ensure proper organisation of delivery vehicles to avoid congestion in loading bay
- Ensure the loading bay is clean and no deliveries are lying unattended
- Inform Suppliers as soon as possible with any discrepancies/issues
- Ensure all returns are recorded and credits received from suppliers when required




- Update computer system and input of all Food Invoices
- Accurately understand delivery/issue/distribution of products held within the stores and fulfill the objectives and direction given by the management of the company
- Maintain the effective running of store and receiving areas, including full awareness of health and safety practices in accordance with Metropolitan London standards
- Attend relevant training courses, both internal and external
- Be aware of all security issues in regard to the Goods Receiver’s working areas to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all COMO personnel
- Provide a versatile approach to work, taking on additional tasks and providing relevant assistance

Job Requirements

- Previous experience in purchasing
- Proactive in approach with self-driven attitude
- Good social and communication skills
- Good spoken and written English
