Focus Systems is seeking an experienced Guidewire Business Analyst (1898) to support a time-boxed assessment of an insurance company's current Guidewire BillingCenter implementation.

Role Overview The Guidewire Business Analyst (1898) will provide business analysis services for an assessment of the current Guidewire BillingCenter implementation. The engagement will focus on identifying the root causes of operational challenges, evaluating current business processes, and recommending opportunities to improve automation, efficiency, and alignment with Guidewire best practices. The successful consultant will work with business and technical stakeholders to assess delinquency, billing, payment, and integration processes across Guidewire BillingCenter, Guidewire PolicyCenter, and connected systems. The consultant will document current and future states, identify systemic issues and operational risks, and develop a prioritized implementation roadmap.

Key Responsibilities





- Assess the current Guidewire BillingCenter implementation and related billing operations
- Evaluate the suitability of the current delinquency process for the non-standard auto portfolio
- Assess the business and operational impact of collecting two initial payments before the standard billing cycle
- Identify manual activities, process gaps, and operational inefficiencies throughout the delinquency lifecycle
- Review process dependencies, data flows, and coordination between Guidewire BillingCenter and Guidewire PolicyCenter
- Analyze production defects, recurring issues, and backlog trends to identify systemic root causes
- Assess opportunities to use out-of-the-box Guidewire functionality and reduce unnecessary customization
- Establish a shared understanding of end-to-end processes, business rules, process ownership, and system interactions
- Review the Three Pay payment plan and delinquency process
- Review billing and payment integrations with external systems
- Assess payment reliability, monitoring, reconciliation, and controls
- Facilitate workshops and interviews with business and technical stakeholders
- Develop current-state and future-state process maps
- Prepare prioritized recommendations and an implementation roadmap




- Provide weekly status reporting throughout the engagement

Mandatory Qualifications

- Minimum five (5) years of Business Analyst experience
- Minimum five (5) years of experience gathering business requirements, resolving production issues, and elaborating enhancements
- Direct business analysis experience with Guidewire BillingCenter
- Expert-level experience with the Guidewire BillingCenter platform
- Advanced experience eliciting business, technical, non-functional, security, and testing requirements
- Advanced experience documenting epics, features, and user stories
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and other software delivery lifecycles
- Experience conducting business process assessments and root cause analysis
- Experience facilitating discussions with business and technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience & Assets

- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA) or Other industry-recognized Business Analysis certification or designation
- Guidewire InsurCloud for Canada
- Canadian Property and Casualty insurance industry experience
- Billing, payment, delinquency, and reconciliation process experience
- Guidewire configuration and out-of-the-box capability assessments
- Insurance business rules and customer payment plan experience
