HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Makkinga Contractors is actively seeking applications for a HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (Crushing Crew) to join our team for immediate hire in Thunder Bay.

Qualifications

- Surface Miner Common Core and applicable modules (mandatory)
- Previous experience in mobile crushing and heavy equipment operations
- Loader operating ability and proven experience
- Excavator operating ability and proven experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s record
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to different project locations

Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform daily inspections and general preventative maintenance
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Assist with setup, operation, and tear-down of mobile crushing plants
- Communicate effectively with foremen, managers, and other team members
- Travel to various job sites as required

Additional Information:




- Comfortable using tablets and digital tools for reporting and documentation
- Strong communication skills via email, text, and phone
- Ability to complete and maintain Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) when driving commercial vehicles and properly complete inspections
