Position Summary

IAT Global Manufacturing is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Assembler to build, assemble, and test hydraulic components and systems used in our custom tooling, fixtures, and automation equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings to ensure hydraulic systems meet precision and performance specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble hydraulic components including cylinders, valves, pumps, hoses, fittings, manifolds, and clamps according to engineering drawings and work instructions

- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and bills of materials (BOMs) to determine assembly sequence and component specifications

- Install and torque fittings, seals, and gaskets to prevent leaks and ensure proper system function

- Perform pressure testing and leak checks on assembled hydraulic units, troubleshooting and correcting issues as needed

- Select and prepare hydraulic hoses and tubing, including cutting, crimping, and routing to specification

- Work with hydraulic clamps, cylinders, and related components (e.g., Vektek and similar industrial hydraulic hardware) used in custom fixtures and tooling

- Inspect components for defects, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to quality standards prior to and during assembly

- Maintain accurate documentation of assembly steps, test results,



and any non-conformances

- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to resolve fit, function, or design issues during assembly

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with health and safety policies

- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to assembly processes and efficiency

Qualifications

Required:

- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in hydraulic assembly, mechanical assembly, or a related industrial trade

- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs

- Working knowledge of hydraulic system components (cylinders, valves, pumps, manifolds, fittings)

- Proficiency with hand tools, torque wrenches, and basic measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers)

- Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods

Preferred:

- Millwright, industrial mechanic, or machine builder trade certification/apprenticeship

- Experience with precision tooling, jigs, fixtures, or pallet/automation systems

- Familiarity with hydraulic torque and pressure testing equipment

- Experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments

Pay: $23.00-$33.00 per hour
