We're Hiring - Intermediate UX Designer

We are looking for an experienced Intermediate UX Designer to create intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging digital experiences for web and mobile applications. The successful candidate will apply user-centered design methodologies to research, design, prototype, test, and iterate solutions that improve user experiences and support business objectives.

This role requires a collaborative designer who can work closely with stakeholders, product teams, and end users to translate research insights into effective digital solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UX/UI principles, service design, usability testing, and modern design tools.

Only candidates who are legally authorized to work in Canada and currently residing in Canada will be considered. Candidates with public sector experience in Canada are preferred.

Location: Onsite, Toronto, ON

Key Responsibilities

- Create effective, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces for digital products and services.
- Design the overall functionality of products to ensure an exceptional user experience and continuously improve designs through user testing and feedback.
- Design interfaces for web applications, mobile applications, digital displays, publications, media, and other digital assets.
- Conduct user research, interviews, surveys, and usability testing to understand user needs and behaviors.
- Translate research findings into personas, customer journey maps, service blueprints, sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.




- Apply user-centered design principles and rapidly iterate solutions based on testing outcomes and stakeholder feedback.
- Facilitate collaborative design workshops, co-design sessions, and stakeholder engagements.
- Identify usability challenges and develop innovative, user-focused solutions.
- Support product vision through research, sketching, prototyping, validation, and continuous improvement.
- Gather and analyze user feedback to optimize existing interfaces and enhance overall digital experiences.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams while managing competing priorities and project deadlines.

Required Skills & Experience

UX/UI Design:

- Proven experience designing intuitive user experiences for web and mobile applications.
- Solid portfolio demonstrating UX/UI design expertise across digital products and services.
- Experience creating wireframes, mockups, prototypes, user flows, and interaction designs.
- Ability to design solutions optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.

User-Centered Design & Research:

- Experience conducting user research, interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
- Ability to translate user insights into actionable design improvements.
- Experience developing personas, customer journey maps, service blueprints, and information architecture artifacts.




- Strong understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles.

Design Tools:

- Proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD , or similar platforms.
- Experience creating interactive prototypes and design systems.

Service Design & Digital Service Delivery:

- Minimum 5 years of experience applying service design and user experience methodologies, including:
- User needs mapping
- User research (exploratory and evaluative)
- Stakeholder mapping
- Personas
- Customer journey mapping
- Collaborative design
- Prototyping
- Service blueprinting
- Knowledge of emerging digital service delivery trends, service design practices, and innovative technologies.

Desired Qualifications:

- Familiarity with Ontario Public Service (OPS) standards, digital service principles, and AODA accessibility requirements .
- Understanding of web development technologies and their limitations.
- Knowledge of network security concepts and network protocols.
- Experience using analytics and user data to make evidence-based design recommendations.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
