ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced IT Specialist to join their growing team. This is a dual-focus role combining traditional IT support and infrastructure management with hands-on responsibility for IoT systems, connected devices, and industrial automation technologies.

The successful candidate will be equally comfortable resolving day-to-day end-user technical issues and diving deep into IoT infrastructure, industrial communication protocols, and cloud-based monitoring platforms. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically versatile professional who wants to operate at the intersection of enterprise IT and smart manufacturing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General IT Support & Infrastructure

- Provide comprehensive technical support to end-users across Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Manage and troubleshoot networking components including LAN configurations, firewall settings, VPN access, and wireless connectivity.
- Install, configure, and upgrade hardware and software components including Microsoft Office and operating systems.
- Use ticketing platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy to document incidents, track resolutions, and streamline support workflows.
- Maintain security protocols by managing firewall configurations and VPN access to protect organizational data and systems.
- Collaborate with team members to improve IT support processes and develop best practices for help desk operations.

IoT & Industrial Systems

- Develop, deploy, and maintain IoT infrastructure including connected devices, sensors, and embedded systems.




- Configure and manage industrial communication protocols and networking systems within the manufacturing environment.
- Support data collection, system monitoring, and integration of smart technologies across operations.
- Assist in the implementation of cybersecurity measures specific to IoT and industrial control environments.
- Monitor system performance, identify anomalies, and troubleshoot technical issues across connected platforms.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on automation initiatives and digital transformation projects.
- Support cloud-based monitoring, analytics platforms, and reporting dashboards tied to operational data.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required

- Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, IoT, or a related field.
- Solid knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Experience with network configuration, LAN management, firewall setup, VPN deployment, and wireless networking.
- Hands-on experience with IoT systems, connected devices, and industrial networking.
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices for both enterprise IT and IoT environments.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or BMC Remedy.




- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network layers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist users at all levels clearly and professionally.

Assets

- Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, sensors, and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for IoT data management and analytics.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and operational reporting dashboards.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, electrical, or industrial automation environment.
