Are you a pre-dental student serious about getting into your dream school? Most applicants only have "shadowing" on their resume. At Kiwi Dental, we offer a high-energy, immersive experience designed to give you a massive competitive advantage.
This is more than a job; it’s a behind-the-scenes masterclass in the clinical and operational realities of a successful Ontario dental practice.
The "Kiwi Edge" for Your Future Application:
- Clinical Exposure: Move beyond the waiting room. Observe complex procedures, learn the "why" behind treatment plans, and master the flow of a high-performance operatory.
- Operational Mastery: Learn the backbone of dental safety—from IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) protocols and sterilization to digital workflow and patient management software.
- Communication Coaching: Observe how our doctors manage patient anxiety, explain complex cases, and build lifelong trust. These are the "soft skills" that shine in dental school interviews.
- Mentorship & References: For students who show exceptional dedication, our doctors provide personalized Letters of Recommendation and long-term mentorship as you navigate the application process.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Sterilization Lead:
Mastering the RCDSO-compliant sterilization cycle (the "heart" of every clinic).
- Room Transitions: Setting up and breaking down operatories for various procedures (Restorative, Endo, Surgery).
- Clinical Support: Assisting the team with inventory, lab tracking, and back-office flow.
- Observation: Direct chairside observation during procedures.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Dedicated: You are 100% committed to a career in Dentistry.
- Reliable: You can commit to two full days per week (weekdays or weekends) for a minimum of 6 months.
- Proactive: You don’t wait to be told what to do; you see a need and fill it.
- Professional: You understand the importance of patient privacy (PHIPA) and skilled conduct.
