Our client is seeking a junior Operations/Data Analyst to support a securities data operations team within a leading financial institution. This role is ideal for candidates with 1–3 years of experience in banking or financial services who have strong Excel skills and an understanding of the securities industry. You will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of securities data while supporting daily operational activities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain security master data for a variety of financial instruments.
- Validate and reconcile securities information with external data vendors.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Respond to internal client inquiries and support day-to-day operational requests.
- Monitor production activities and ensure daily processing deadlines are met.
- Escalate issues and participate in process improvements and cross-training initiatives.
- Collaborate with business partners to support ongoing regulatory and operational projects.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in operations, data analysis, or financial services.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyze and validate data.
- Working knowledge of the securities industry and financial instruments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven workplace.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platforms.
- Canadian Securities Course (CSC) designation.
- Experience supporting securities operations or market data processes.
