About the Chance

NorthStone Landscaping is seeking to establish business relationships with experienced, professional, and properly insured independent landscaping contractors serving Burlington, Hamilton, Mississauga, Oakville, and surrounding areas.

This posting is for an independent contractor opportunity and is not an offer of employment.

NorthStone Landscaping's primary role is to generate and refer prospective customer opportunities to independent contractors. Contractors may choose whether to accept opportunities referred to them and are responsible for operating and managing their own independent landscaping business.

No minimum number of leads, projects, working hours, or amount of revenue is guaranteed.

Independent Contractor Relationship

Contractors engaged through this arrangement are expected to operate as independent businesses.

Subject to the terms of the final written contractor agreement, contractors are responsible for determining the manner and means by which they perform accepted projects, including the methods used to complete the work.

Contractors are responsible for their own:

- Tools, vehicles, machinery, equipment, and supplies required to perform their services
- Business expenses and operating costs
- Applicable income taxes, HST/GST obligations, registrations, licences, and other governmental obligations
- Commercial general liability insurance and any other insurance appropriate or legally required for their operations
- WSIB registration, coverage, clearances, or other workplace-insurance requirements where applicable
- Workers, employees, or subcontractors they independently engage, where permitted under the written agreement
- Quality and completion of the landscaping services they agree to perform
- Compliance with applicable laws, regulations,



safety requirements, permits, and industry requirements

The contractor is responsible for maintaining all required insurance and must provide satisfactory evidence of applicable coverage before performing referred projects. Where WSIB registration, coverage, a clearance certificate, or an independent-operator determination is applicable, appropriate documentation may also be required before work begins.

NorthStone Landscaping's Role

NorthStone Landscaping operates primarily as a lead-generation and referral source under this arrangement.

For opportunities provided by NorthStone and accepted by a contractor, NorthStone will facilitate the referral in accordance with the parties' written contractor agreement.

NorthStone does not guarantee the contractor any minimum amount of work, revenue, leads, projects, or continuing business.

The parties intend to establish an independent business relationship rather than an employer-employee relationship. Nothing in the arrangement is intended to create an employment relationship, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between NorthStone Landscaping and the contractor.

Revenue Arrangement

There is no hourly wage, salary, employee compensation, or guaranteed income associated with this opportunity.

For qualifying projects originating from a NorthStone Landscaping referral:

Independent Contractor: 85% of applicable project revenue

NorthStone Landscaping: 15% referral/service fee For example, where applicable project revenue is $1,000, the contractor's share would be $850 and NorthStone's share would be $150.

The precise definition of project revenue, payment procedures, refunds, cancellations, chargebacks, taxes, customer non-payment, additional work,



and other financial matters will be governed by the parties' written contractor agreement.

Contractor Qualifications

NorthStone is interested in establishing relationships with contractors who have previous professional landscaping or property-maintenance experience and a demonstrated ability to provide high-quality work.

Contractors should be dependable, professional, organized, and capable of communicating effectively with customers. Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills are important.

Contractors should have their own reliable transportation and the tools and equipment necessary to perform the landscaping services they offer.

Experience may include lawn and garden maintenance, property cleanups, planting, mulching, sod installation, hedge and shrub maintenance, and other residential landscaping services.

Insurance and Responsibility for Work

Contractors must maintain appropriate commercial liability insurance and any other coverage required for the services they perform.

Each contractor is responsible for the performance of the projects they accept, including the quality and safety of their work and compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Any specific provisions concerning indemnification, property damage, customer claims, warranties, insurance, dispute resolution, and allocation of liability will be established in the parties' written independent contractor agreement.

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
