Logistics Manager We are seeking a Logistics This role is responsible for developing and executing logistics strategies. This role is responsible for managing carrier, customs clearance, and courier relationships while providing operational and regulatory expertise.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliant, cost-effective, and efficient cross-border and international trade operations.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Internal Guidance
Serve as the internal center of excellence for trade compliance, logistics processes, and regulatory requirements
Develop, document, and standardize logistics workflows and best practices across North American facilities
Train, coach, and develop internal teams on domestic and international shipping and customs procedures
Act as the primary point of contact for logistics process development and execution, liaising with suppliers, carriers, customs brokers, and legal advisors as required
Monitor global trade developments and market trends to proactively identify risks and opportunities
Ensure all import and export activities comply with applicable regulations (e.g., USMCA, CBSA, U.S. CBP, EAR, ITAR, and sanctions requirements)
Oversee product classification (HS/HTS codes) and country-of-origin determination
Tariffs & Trade Compliance
Provide guidance on tariff-related impacts and develop actionable strategies to mitigate cost exposure
Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and lead cross-functional alignment on business impacts
Act as liaison with external advisors, customs brokers, legal counsel, and trade partners
Design and implement best-practice processes to minimize tariff exposure and ensure compliance
Transportation & Logistics Operations
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and courier partners
Recommend and allocate transportation providers to meet service, cost, and reliability targets
Analyze freight spend and lead cost-reduction and duty-optimization initiatives
Define, implement, and track logistics KPIs aligned with customer expectations and business objectives
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
7–10+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, and international trade, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of cross-border trade regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., USMCA, CBSA, U.S. CBP, EAR, ITAR)
Proven experience managing carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers
Demonstrated expertise in tariff classification (HS/HTS), country of origin determination, and duty optimization strategies
Experience developing and implementing logistics strategies, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives
Strong analytical skills with experience managing freight spend, cost modeling, and KPI development
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and regions
Proficiency bn SAP or similar ERP system
Professional certifications such as CITT, CSCMP, or customs/trade compliance designations are considered an asset
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment with a high level of attention to detail
