ROLE

POSITION: Maintenance Supervisor

REPORTS TO: Branch Manager

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: The Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team and help drive a safe, efficient, and high-performing shop. As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our maintenance department, ensuring our fleet and equipment are maintained safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively while supporting continuous improvement across the operation.

The Ideal Supervisor Will Possess

- Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Previous experience leading a maintenance team or supervising mechanics.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment, trucks, and industrial equipment.

- Ability to Work in a High Pace/High Stress Environment
- Proficiency with maintenance software and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of transportation, fleet, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Solid organizational, coordinating, and planning skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety

- Adhere to and ensure compliance with all applicable company, client and legislative regulations, policies, practices and procedures.
- Promote a positive safety culture through “Safety Starts with Me” and company values.
- Successfully complete approved/certified training where required.
- Refuse work you feel is unsafe and report it immediately to your supervisor.
- Report all injuries and incidents immediately to appropriate company personnel (and customer representatives when required).
- Conduct Accident/Incident Report when required.
- Participate in toolbox talks with crews weekly.





Documentation
- Ensure clear verbal and written communication.
- Ensure that all applicable documentation (Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs), Work Orders, checklists, etc.) is completed in full and is clear and easy to read.
- Ensure that records are signed where applicable.
- Support the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle as it applies to documentation and company records.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, order, and supplier records
- Prepare purchase orders and track order history
- Create purchase requisitions
- Verifies and approves Daily work orders ensuring Mechanic Job Accuracy

Operations
- Provide leadership, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to mechanics and maintenance staff to support skill development, performance improvement, and team effectiveness.
- Prepare maintenance schedules in line with the organization’s maintenance goals and monitor preventive maintenance compliance.
- Frequently inspect facilities to proactively detect potential problems and recommend the necessary repair or maintenance.
- Provide support and advice during staff recruitment and ensure the proper onboarding and training process.
- Oversee and enforce good record-keeping practices.
- Approve mechanics time on a daily basis,



ensuring labour hours are accurately recorded and allocated to the appropriate work orders.
- Generate work orders, enter comprehensive job details, and assign work to qualified team members.
- Periodically inspect the quality of performed maintenance work.
- Communicate policies, procedures, and any updates to maintenance staff.
- Ensure that maintenance jobs are executed on time, within budget guidelines, and without compromising a worker’s safety.
- Work closely with vendors, outsource service providers and contractors to protect the interests of the facility.
- Assist with the development of maintenance procedures and proactive maintenance programs, i.e. preventive maintenance.
- Recommend budget items that contribute to the development of an annual maintenance budget.
- Recommend upgrades, overhauls, and other changes to major systems and equipment.
- Ensure that the maintenance shop areas are in a safe and hazard-free environment according to regulations.
- Assist and advise mechanics on equipment maintenance work when needed.
- Oversee DOT compliance and reporting as it relates to the equipment in the branch inventory.
- Monitor overall compliance with local, provincial, and federal requirements relating to the preventive maintenance program.
- Respond to and/or dispatch maintenance personnel to emergency situations either during or after normal work hours when required.

Pay: We offer a competitive salary, with compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and the successful candidate's skills. This position is intended to be Monday-Friday, and not a fly-in, fly-out, opportunity.
