We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to support our Podiatrist, Dr.

James

Allred in our Medicine Hat site. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.

Your responsibilities will include managing patient appointments, maintaining accurate medical records, and assisting with administrative tasks. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care while utilizing your organizational skills and medical knowledge.

Responsibilities

- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent front desk support and assistance
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using electronic scheduling systems
- Manage electronic medical records (EMRs) with accuracy and confidentiality, including updating patient information and documentation
- Answer phone promptly, providing polite patient interactions
- Assist with insurance verification, billing, and coding processes to ensure smooth administrative workflows
- Support clinical staff by preparing examination rooms, sterilizing equipment, and handling patient forms
- Maintain a clean,



organized work area and ensure all office supplies are stocked and accessible

Skills

- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Telus Med Access is highly desirable
- Robust knowledge of medical terminology to accurately communicate with patients and healthcare providers
- Prior experience in medical or dental office environments demonstrating familiarity with front desk operations
- Excellent communication skills and interacting professionally with diverse individuals
- Ability to handle administrative tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Familiarity with office equipment, including computers, printers, and fax machines
