Alloy River builds agentic applied AI for finance and accounting. Accounting today is fragmented, manual, and reactive. Our mission is to transform finance from a slow, labor-intensive, reporting function into a real-time, strategic engine for profit and control.

We re-architected the general ledger from first principles, and layered automation, workflow orchestration, and applied AI directly into its core. Instead of accountants moving data between tools and managing checklists, our system produces outcomes, surfaces exceptions, and compounds leverage over time. It is a ground-up redesign of financial infrastructure for an AI-native world.

We raised over $30m to date from Portage Ventures, Electric Capital, Elad Gil, and angels like Tobi Lütke, Balaji Srinivasan, and many more. You are building the machine underneath the machine. The patterns you create will define how financial data moves and settles across the ledger, and how safely and quickly everyone else can build on top of it.

Product builders will build on it. Financial data holds systems to a standard most software never has to meet - and that standard starts here. Own the foundational patterns that govern how financial data moves, matches, and settles - the layer everything else depends on.

Build the core primitives that product builders extend rather than reinvent: counterparty enrichment, object-arrival matching, transaction reconciliation. Be the architectural authority the team looks to - reviewing approaches, shaping how new work lands, keeping the codebase coherent. This role requires deep technical foundations and a long track record of building systems that other engineers rely on.

It is not a role for generalists who have touched many things lightly. 7+ years of engineering experience, with a strong foundation in computer science. ~ Deep,

Bonus experience includes: Experience in fintech, accounting software, or financial infrastructure. Familiarity with ledger systems, reconciliation, or payment processing.

Experience building integration infrastructure at scale.

Tech: Typescript, Go, React, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, GCP, Pulumi, Kubernetes Product, engineering, and end-user collaboration is tight and direct. We optimize for long term architectural leverage over short term hacks. We ship quickly but care deeply about correctness.
