Role Description The Mover role at Movemiles is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. In this role, the Mover is responsible for safely loading, transporting, and unloading residential and commercial items, ensuring that all belongings are handled with care and arrive in good condition.

Day-to-day tasks include packing and wrapping furniture and fragile items, operating moving equipment such as dollies and lifts, and following job schedules and instructions provided through the company’s systems. Movers will interact with customers on-site, provide courteous service, and assist with basic clean-out activities as required for each job.



The role also involves working collaboratively with team members, following safety protocols, and maintaining a clean and organized truck and work environment.

Qualifications

- Physical stamina and strength to lift, carry, and move heavy items safely, including the ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of packing, wrapping, and loading techniques to protect furniture and fragile items during transport.
- Ability to operate standard moving tools and equipment (e.g., dollies, hand trucks, straps) and follow safety procedures.
- Robust customer service and communication skills to interact professionally with clients on-site and address basic questions or concerns.
- Teamwork and reliability, including punctuality, readiness to follow instructions, and willingness to support colleagues during moves.
- Comfort using mobile devices or apps to review schedules, job details, and updates as part of technology-enabled workflows.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are an asset; experience driving vans or trucks is beneficial but not required for all positions.
- Previous experience in moving, warehousing, delivery, or other physical labor roles is an advantage, though motivated applicants with no prior experience are welcome.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, depending on customer demand.
