Senior .NET Software Developer

Location: Calgary, AB

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2–3 days/week onsite)

Contract: 6 months (extension likely)

Hours: 40 hours/week

Introduction

Brunel is seeking a Senior .NET Software Developer to join a high-performing development team supporting the continued enhancement of an internal transportation management platform. Reporting to the Tech Lead, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining web applications that support rail logistics, fleet management, and invoice reconciliation. This position is ideal for an experienced full-stack .NET developer who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys building scalable, high-quality business applications.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance web application functionality using C#, ASP.NET Blazor, and Entity Framework.
- Build and optimize SQL Server database solutions with a focus on performance, security, and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain integrations with Microsoft Azure services for application hosting, storage, and security.
- Utilize Azure DevOps for Git source control, sprint planning, and work item management.
- Collaborate closely with the Tech Lead and project team to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop responsive, user-friendly interfaces using Blazor, HTML, and CSS.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high development standards.
- Produce clean,



maintainable code and supporting technical documentation.

Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of qualified .NET software development experience.
- Strong experience developing web applications using C#, ASP.NET Blazor, Entity Framework, SQL Server, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications within Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including Git source control and Agile development workflows.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns.
- Ability to write clean, scalable, maintainable code and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.

Nice to Have

- Experience applying OWASP secure coding principles and .NET security best practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or other data engineering technologies.
- Experience developing software within transportation, logistics, or fleet management environments.
- Experience working on enterprise-scale internal business applications.
