Public Health Services team, provides nursing services within the framework of the Population Health Promotion Model and Primary Health Care. This employee works relatively independently and is expected to make primary decisions based on sound assessments in accordance with The Public Health Act, both regional and
PHN specific policies and procedures, the CRNS Standards of Practice, the
Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Nurses, the Community Health
Nurses of Canada - Standards of Practice, and the PHN Discipline Specific
Competencies. Knowledge, skills, and abilities specific to health promotions,
prevention and protection are inherent in this role. This employee liaises with,
and refers to, other health personnel, and other sectors and community groups.
Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Experience in public health and implementation of The Public Health Act, 1994 Three (3) years experience as a Public Health Nurse Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)

Ability to make decisions on patient care and coordination of equipment Knowledge of research and statistical collection concepts Ability to make decisions, which must include coordination of staffing Ability to communicate in a cross-cultural setting Ability to manage multiple tasks at various stages according to priorities.
