AustralGIS Inc. is looking for a remote consultant Open-Source GIS Developer to design, implement, and maintain geospatial solutions using QGIS, QField, and PostGIS.

What you'll do

Configure and customize QGIS and QField projects; design and optimize PostGIS database schemas.

Develop automated workflows, ETL processes, and scripts to integrate GIS with relational databases.

Partner with clients and project managers to gather requirements, resolve technical issues, ensure data quality, and produce clear documentation.

Support internal and client training initiatives.

Apply GIS expertise to projects within the oil & gas sector.

What you bring

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Solid experience managing geospatial data, metadata, and information systems.





Proficiency with databases, ETL tools, scripting, and IT integration.

Basic awareness of cybersecurity practices for data protection and access control.

Hands-on experience with QGIS, QField, PostGIS, and open-source GIS stacks (SQL and spatial queries are a strong plus).

Bonus: background in cartography, web mapping, remote sensing, or field data collection.

Degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.

Ability to work independently, manage your own timeline, and deliver on contract milestones in a fully remote setting.
