Job Overview

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) provides personal care and support to clients in their daily activities and personal hygiene, ensuring a safe and resident‑centred approach.

Responsibilities

- Assist clients with personal care, hygiene and daily activities.
- Support clients’ physical, social and emotional needs in a protected manner.
- Adhere to government standards, residents’ rights and the organization’s mission and philosophy.
- Maintain a resident‑centred focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Work independently and as part of an active, positive team.

Qualifications

- Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent.
- Experience in a long‑term care setting is an asset.
- Current CPR Certificate.
- Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
- Behavioural management training (Gentle Persuasive Approach, U‑First, CPI) an asset.
- Computer literacy (Point Click Care,



MS Office); basic knowledge of Workday an asset.
- Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset.

Working Conditions

- Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending.
- Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact.
- Permanent evening shifts, including weekends and short shifts; may be required to work alternate shift(s).

- Provide a recent satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check and medical clearance certificate.

Salary

$25.41 – $27.62 per hour.
