GCP Platform / Infrastructure Architect (DevOps)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced GCP Platform / Infrastructure Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise-grade cloud platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . The ideal candidate combines deep cloud architecture expertise with strong DevOps practices to build secure, scalable, highly available, and automated infrastructure.

You will define cloud architecture standards, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), design CI/CD pipelines, and work closely with engineering teams to modernise applications and infrastructure using cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and architect scalable, secure, and resilient solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
- Build and maintain enterprise cloud landing zones, networking, IAM, and security architecture.
- Design and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Architect and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Cloud Build.
- Design and manage Kubernetes platforms using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Develop cloud automation using Python or Bash.
- Lead platform engineering initiatives, including GitOps, automation, and self-service infrastructure.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and observability using Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, and Cloud Logging.
- Establish security best practices, including IAM, RBAC, Secret Manager, policy management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Design disaster recovery, backup,



high availability, and business continuity solutions.
- Optimise cloud performance, scalability, reliability, and cost.
- Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentoring to engineering teams.
- Collaborate with application, security, networking, and operations teams throughout the solution lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

- 8+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Cloud Architecture.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong expertise in:
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Terraform
- Kubernetes
- Docker
- CI/CD pipelines
- GitOps
- Linux
- Python or Bash
- Deep understanding of:
- VPC, Cloud DNS, Load Balancing, Cloud NAT, VPN, Interconnect
- IAM, Security, Networking
- Cloud Storage
- Compute Engine
- Cloud SQL
- Monitoring and Logging
- Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and architecture documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Google Professional Cloud Architect (Highly Preferred)
- Google Qualified Cloud DevOps Engineer
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Experience with Anthos is a plus.
- Experience implementing DevSecOps and security best practices.
