Company: Turn Key Group LTD
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced PLC Programmer to design, develop, and commission control systems for our automation projects. You'll work hands-on with both Siemens and Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) platforms, turning process requirements into reliable, well-documented control logic — from the initial design through to on-site startup and support.
This is a role for someone who enjoys solving real problems on the plant floor, takes pride in clean and maintainable code, and can be trusted to own a project from concept to commissioning.
What You'll Do
- Develop, test, and commission PLC programs on Siemens (TIA Portal / Step 7, S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-300/400) and Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000 / RSLogix, ControlLogix, CompactLogix) platforms.
- Design and configure HMI/SCADA applications (e.g., Siemens WinCC, FactoryTalk View).
- Integrate drives, VFDs, servo systems, and industrial networks (Profinet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, Modbus).
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs;, and control specifications.
- Perform I/O checkout, functional testing, and on-site commissioning and startup.
- Troubleshoot and support existing control systems, both remotely and on-site.
- Produce clear documentation: functional descriptions, program comments, and as-built records.
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and project teams to deliver on schedule.
What You Bring
- Proven hands-on experience programming both Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs in an industrial setting.
- Strong working knowledge of TIA Portal / Step 7 and Studio 5000 / RSLogix.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA development and industrial communication protocols.
- Ability to read electrical and control drawings and translate them into working logic.
- Solid troubleshooting skills and a methodical, safety-first approach to commissioning.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical/Controls/Automation Engineering or equivalent trade/field experience.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required. [Adjust or remove]
- Valid driver's license. [Optional]
Nice to Have
- Experience with robotics, motion control, or vision systems.
- Knowledge of functional safety (Safety PLCs, SISTEMA).
- Familiarity with database/reporting integration or industrial IoT.
- Second language / experience working across multiple industries.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary of $85,000–$95,000, based on experience and platform expertise. [Adjust to your budget]
- Comprehensive health and dental benefits.
- RRSP matching [e.g. 3–5%].
- Paid overtime, plus commissioning travel pay, per diems, and a vehicle/mileage allowance for site work.
- Paid training and certifications (Siemens, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley) and professional development.
- [Performance / project-completion bonus, tool or phone allowance — optional]
- Diverse, interesting projects and a supportive technical team.
