Position Description

We are seeking a dynamic, self‑motivated Program Manager with excellent communication and people skills, and with a proven background in managing a satellite ground segment program.

Responsibilities

- Develop bids and proposals, including customer liaison, solution, cost estimation, and review.
- Negotiate, discuss, and reach agreement with the customer on key requirements, objectives, funding, resources, and methods, maintaining a diplomatic approach to balance budget and schedule while protecting company interests.
- Provide guidance, direction, and decision‑making to the program team; maintain program visibility at the customer level through regular technical, management, and progress meetings.
- Maintain detailed program schedules tracking program progress.
- Hold frequent assessment of costs‑to‑date and estimates‑to‑complete and develop workaround plans as required to achieve cost and schedule objectives.




- Ensure staffing levels and competencies match program needs; organize and apply required resources to manage the program, negotiating with line managers and other programs when necessary.
- Develop a cadre of capable subcontractors and suppliers in conjunction with the supply chain to meet supply requirements throughout the program life cycle.
- Identify and manage program risks and opportunities.
- Maintain hands‑on control of the program through regular program reviews, staff meetings, and related activities.
- Maintain visibility of the program to senior management through monthly program reviews and briefings on subjects of importance to the company.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- 8+ years of program/project management or leadership experience in a related technical field.
- Experience with negotiations, risk management, contract management, subcontract management, financials, and US ITAR regulations.
- Excellent people and leadership skills.
- Travel required.

Special Considerations

Successful candidates must obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level and pass a security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
