Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Child Care Educator, you will:

- Lead, mentor, and support educators in delivering high-quality childcare programs.
- Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative team culture.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations and Standards.
- Support the planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of engaging learning experiences.
- Maintain safe, nurturing, and inclusive environments that foster children's growth and development.
- Observe and assess program quality, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure active supervision and the well-being of all children in care.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Assist with daily operations, staffing coordination, and program management.
- Support staff through coaching, guidance, and ongoing professional development.
- Address challenges professionally and contribute to positive problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, integrity, and excellence.





QualificationsRequired
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification Level 2 minimum (Level 3 preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations and Standards.
- Experience mentoring, guiding, and supporting educators.
- Strong understanding of child development, emergent curriculum, and Alberta's Flight Framework.
- Experience with program planning, implementation, observation, and assessment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of care and professionalism.
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
